General information
Top Entering Agitators are the most frequently used type of agitators. The drive unit is located on top of the closed or open tank, and rotates the impeller (or impellers) by means of a vertical shaft. Rotating speed plus type and diameter of impeller(s) are chosen by AGIMIX to fulfil the required process results for each application. Also, the length of the shaft makes it necessary to calculate and avoid the critical rpm for each agitator design. The most common design is one bottom propeller mounted to the end of the shaft, positioned at a specific distance (depending on the application) above the bottom of the tank. For special applications multiple impellers may be mounted on the same shaft.

Material
Wetted parts made of AISI 304, AISI 316, AISI 316L, Titan, or any alloy such as Hastelloy etc. Lining with Teflon, PVC etc. is also available, as per customer specifications. Surface treatment as per customer specifications. Painting as per SSG-standards, or as per customers specifications.

Warranty
- Mechanical warranty
Standard warranty for AGIMIX agitators is 1 year from the date of product transfer to the customer. On customer request, warranty period may be extended up to 5 years. |

Assembly
- Mounting flanges

Two flanges are required for proper agitator assembly: tank flange (MF) and agitator flange (AF, GAF). Each AGIMIX agitator has a mounting flange (AF) for stable and safe operation. In case of simple agitators, drive or gearbox flange (GAF) may be mounting flange of agitator. Tank for working with agitator must be equipped with a flange (MF) designed to handle the loads generated by agitator (loads values are always mentioned in our offer/catalogue card). Mounting flange of the tank is not included in delivery. |
- Tank mounting flange (MF)
Properly designed tank mounting flange (MF) should carry all loads from agitator i.e. torque, bending moment, axial force and weight. Tank flange must also have sufficient rigidity to ensure stable agitator operation. Value of minimum mounting rigidity is always mentioned in offer/catalogue card of agitator. Surface of the tank flange must be leveled to 1 mm/m. |

- Agitator mounting flange (AF, GAF)
Standard dimensions of agitator mounting flanges are shown in table below. The first series specifies flange dimensions (AF), the second one defines flanges (GAF). On the request, we make mounting flanges according to customer specification (e.g. PN6, PN16, AISI, JIS and other). Dimensioning of the mounting flange is always mentioned in offer/catalogue card of agitator. |
